Certainly cemeteries provide the right setting for delving deeper and deeper into this thought. Paris offers quite a few remarkable places; the Cimetière de Montmartre (officially Cimitière du Nord) belongs into this list. And, indeed it was the first of the Parisian cemeteries that I ever visited.
